    OLYMPIC HERO McCOURT PASSES IN BELFAST

    OLYMPIAN boxer Jim McCourt has died in his Belfast home. He was 79.

    The counter-punching southpaw was the Ireland team’s lone medal winner from the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, reaching the lightweight semi-finals. He also won lightweight bronze at the 1965 European Championships
