I read your Essential Guide to Life in the Trenches (July 2023) with great interest, but I was particularly intrigued by the photograph on page 47 (also shown above), depicting soldiers of the 17th Service Battalion, King's Liverpool Regiment, saying prayers before entering the trenches.
