COLORADO CUP, COLORADO, USA, 2023

2023 added an exciting new element to the “Colorado Tour:” The Colorado Cup. The Colorado Tour has been around for over twenty years, with events happening every weekend for six weeks, often with multiple events to choose from on the same dates. To reward people for placements across multiple events, the US Freestyle Committee, with Kathy Holcombe, at the helm, created the CO Cup. The three events were CKS Paddlefest, GoPro Mountain Games, and FIBark. A separate cash payout for the overall winner saw athletes pushing harder for their placings in the freestyle events and created an exciting finals in Salida, CO, something that particular event hadn't seen for several years. In the cadets, kids down to seven years old participated with their own rules, encouraging all skill levels to get in the water and join the fun. The junior women's class saw tremendous growth from Chloe Spears and dominance by MK Hargrove.
