OPERATION HYDRA
Conducted during 17-18 August 1943, Operation Hydra was an RAF Bomber Command attack on a German scientific research centre at Peenemünde. Located on Germany’s Baltic coast, Peenemünde was one of five German military proving grounds that developed guided missiles and rockets, including the infamous V-2 rocket.
