VICTORY AT WINTERNATIONALS

I think it’s fair to say that for any New Zealander I or Australian, the absolute pinnacle of Australian drag racing is the Winternationals. And here we were, getting ready to compete for the Australian Top Fuel Funny Car Championship at the Winternationals. After success at the last event, we were now leading the championship by a measly two points over teammate Brandon Gosbell in the Rocket Mustang. As a team, our goal would obviously be to get the two cars to the final and see what happened from there.

After some struggles with the set-up at the last event, we took the Mustang up to the winter warm-ups for a couple of days of testing the weekend prior to the event. We had made some big changes in the clutch department to try to open up the tuning window while still remaining fast. Well, after two very successful test passes, it was “Pack it up, boys, we are good to go for the Winternationals”.
