HAVING won the Doomben Newmarket Handicap with the welter weight of 10.12, Auction must be regarded as being one of the best sprinters Australia has produced in recent times. It was a remarkable performance, because he gave Beaulivre 17lb and Gold Salute 25lb and easily defeated them. Beaulivre is a Caulfield Cup winner and Gold Salute has won at wfa at Randwick.
