LES Young has a penchant for early Ford V8s and a soft spot for the original factory styling. His ‘52 Ford Woody made the cover of our March 2002 issue and was followed by a feature on his 1936 Ford Tudor in our March 2007 mag. That's just the tip of the iceberg of Les’ collection, which now includes a ‘34 Ford 3-window coupe with roots that go right back to 1934 when Ford NZ imported it as a brand new RHD car from Ford Canada. By the mid-fifties and after 20 years on the road, these early Ford coupes became the staple diet of hot rodders eager to partake in the evolving high-performance hot rod scene. They were spurred on by images seen in American hot rod magazines available in Kiwi bookshops.
