WHAT’S MOVIN' AND SHAKIN'

ALFA GTV

Not the 105 Series but the two-door, 4-seater fastback designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign and introduced in 1974. The pick of the litter is the GTV 6 2.5 and its SOHC fuel-injected 2.5lt V6 that debuted in 1980. The bigger engine meant a bonnet bulge that characterises its looks. The V6 got rave reviews from the motoring press and it was said it found its true home in the GTV 6’s gran turismo body. The GTV went through several revisions, including new gear ratios and an updated interior in 1984. Prices have remained quite stagnant for many years but in recent times they have shot up and show no sign of slowing. So, if you want one, start seriously looking now.
