Rescue tracks from an old iPod

Q Can I still rescue the music tracks from my working iPod (fifth Generation) to my MacBook Pro 2020?

A You may well still be able to do this by connecting your iPod with a USB cable and adaptor to a Thunderbolt port on your MacBook Pro. When you connect them and the iPod appears in the Finder, select it and uncheck any option to Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected if it appears, to stop your Mac from trying to sync with the iPod.

If the iPod mounts in the Finder, navigate to its iPod Control > Music folder, for which you may need to show hidden files by pressing Cmd+Shift+’.’. The folders inside that contain music
