In the workshop How quickly can we get a project finished?

A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO WE spoke about assessing a new project. Finding out its history, like how long it had been sitting, why it had been laid up, what it needed and parts required, as well as what we wanted it to be.

I went for another airhead boxer because I know them and didn’t have time for a full restoration. I actually wanted a Triumph Bonneville, but cannot afford one – so the BMW will have to pretend! The German-market 1978 BMW R80/7 had been parked up after a front end accident bent the forks and wheel. The owner had since died, but left extensive notes of work, services and ownership, meaning that although the odometer had already been around to zero again (km), it had led a lovely life, and shouldn’t need too much to recommission,
