Hassle-free harvests

One hassle in gardening that few people like to talk about is harvesting. I love picking crops, of course, but joy can turn to chore when everything ripens at once. Even the most enthusiastic pea lover will grow tired of podding a midsummer glut.

This may sound like sacrilege but I feel it’s vital to consider the time needed to harvest and prepare crops, because it can often take longer than sowing and growing them. I have to be realistic about what I can fit around a full-time job, while not wasting anything.
