AS THE current N80 generation of Hilux grows long in the tooth and newer players like the Ranger and Amarok take the segment to new levels, Toyota Australia has given its perennial favourite ute some more muscle with the Hilux Rogue model. While it remains an older platform than the T6.3 chassis that sits under the new pairing, and it can’t offer the performance and refinement of V6 power, the Rogue shows there’s still life in the old dog yet.
The latest Hilux Rogue is more than just a luxe and sticker pack the previous iteration of the badge was. The big ticket item that distinguishes this Rogue from the previous model, and all other current Hiluxes, is a new suspension package featuring a wider wheel track both front and rear.
This is no small track increase achieved by simply changing the offset of the wheels as some manufacturers have claimed before. Toyota has seriously re-engineered the Hilux Rogue’s chassis with a new wider
