YOU WILL NEED

● West Yorkshire Spinners The Croft DK (100% Shetland wool, 100g/225m) in Skelberry (580) For yarn quantities and measurements see size table
● A pair of 3.25mm knitting needles
● A 3.25mm circular knitting needle, 100cm long
● A pair of 4mm needles
● 2 safety pins
● 5 buttons

TENSION

22 sts and 28 rows to measure 10x10cm over Main Pattern using 4mm needles.

ABBREVIATIONS

K1-lift: Take RH needle under strand at front of work before knitting next st as normal. K3w2: Knit next 3 sts, wrapping yarn twice around needle for each st.

P3w2: Purl next 3 sts, wrapping yarn twice around needle for each st.

Kgather3: Slip next 3 sts to RH needle, allowing extra wrapped loops to drop, place these 3 sts back onto LH needle and work (K1, yo, K1) through all 3 sts together.

Pgather3: Slip next 3 sts to RH needle, allowing extra wrapped loops to drop, place these 3 sts back onto LH needle and work (P1, yo, P1) through all 3 sts together.

MAIN PATTERN

Row 1 (WS): Purl.

Row 2 (RS): *K3w2, K5; rep from *.

Row 3: *Kgather3, P5; rep from *.

Row 4: Knit.

Row 5: *P3w2, P5; rep from *.

Row 6: *Pgather3, K5; rep from *.

These 6 rows form Main Pattern and are repeated.
