If you haven’t heard about this book yet, where have you been? Gillian Anderson said it made her “laugh, and a major HBO adaptation of the book (starring Comer) is underway, having sparked a Hollywood bidding war. The story follows 40-something Greta, a transcriber for a sex therapist who becomes fixated on one of her boss’s clients, Flavia, a woman who is struggling to process a past trauma. While it may sound heavy, it’s also incredibly funny – something the cover pulls out perfectly. “We wanted to capture the brilliant oddities of this novel,” says Kishan Rajani, a senior designer at Faber. “In the scene, one dog is unfazed, while another dog’s tongue is jutting straight out in an undeterred and desperate attempt to connect.” This one deserves pride of place on your bookshelf.
