You started out as a youngster at Senrab, a junior team in east London famous for producing Premier League footballers…

Our team actually produced five! Myself, John Terry, Bobby Zamora, Paul Konchesky and Jlloyd Samuel. We all went on to play in the Premier League and I believe we all represented England as well [Samuel at under-21 level before switching allegiance to Trinidad & Tobago]. We played in the same team. The whole XI were good players and everyone would have been at academies. We were probably too young to realise how good we were, and our potential. As for who stood out, you’d have to ask the parents!
