ChatGPT and Bard are two large language models (LLMs) that are often compared to each other. Both models are capable of generating text, translating languages, writing different kinds of creative content, and answering your questions in an informative way. However, there are some key differences between the two models.
That intro paragraph was written by Google Bard, and while it has a stilted feel to it, it does show that chatbots powered by large language models – which we seem to have decided to call ‘AI’ – are capable of producing perfectly acceptable text you might think a human had written. Bard and ChatGPT are text-based systems, which means they can’t create images like other specialised AIs such as Midjourney or Stable Diffusion.
