The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment's (DFFE) recently released White Paper on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Wildlife did not go far enough to protect South Africa's wildlife species, according to industry role players.
The Draft White a year ago, was followed by its final iteration spelling out government's intent to step up its efforts in conserving biodiversity for all South Africans.
