■ Clay of choice – earthenware or stoneware, colour as preferred
■ Rolling pin, 10mm thick roller guides, plastic sheet
■ Large 30.5cm (12-inch) and medium 15cm (6-inch) protractors or similar, round ‘somethings’ – make paper templates if you don’t have anything suitable
■ Roulette pattern wheel for impressing design or texture tools
■ Loop tool for carving
■ Glazes of choice – to suit clay type
