FAIRING (S MODEL)
Not the easiest of parts to find and you’d want to make sure yours isn’t in a thousand bits and hastily glued back together.
CLOCKS
These are known to get quirky or pack up with age and replacement is extremely rare. Repair is possible but potentially expensive.
CARBS
If the bike looks standard but won’t run right, check it has the correct jetting and not oversized mains for a four-intoone pipe.
RUNNING GEAR
Expect to change fork seals and swingarm bearings if the bike’s been standing.
BRAKES
Budget for a full rebuild if the bike has been standing for ages and poorly stored.
GEARBOX
If the springs escape from the clutch basket they can interfere with the selector and change gears at random.
TANK
There has been the odd report of stored bikes’
