My double-figure target

AFTER a disappointing start to the season, I now have a much more optimistic mindset. As I write this at the end of June, I have five Border chicks weaned, three about to jump the nest, two more with another hen about 10 days old and a single on its own about a week old. As things stand, that gives me 11 youngsters. Now I know there is a real risk of losing chicks in the moult, but I'm hoping to stay in double figures. I still have three hens on eggs. They're too early to candle, so I'll give them a week and then have a look. If any
