What do you think of this Ford Prefect? Do you find it ‘striking, but not conspicuously handsome’? Or perhaps you find its appearance ‘very slightly odd’.
Some of you will already have spotted that I couldn’t even start without bringing in Ford Prefect from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Yes, you, rolling your eyes. You will remember that the Douglas Adams character was ‘not in fact from Guildford but from a small planet somewhere in the vicinity of Betelgeuse’.
To someone from Guildford this Ford Prefect might just as well be from the same sort of distance. In fact it’s in the Far North to many southerners, or, as it’s also known, the Lake District.
