ABOVE AND BEYOND

Inspiration on tour Brett Morgan, OAM, the artistic director of the National College of Dance in Newcastle, has a passion for giving all kids, whether living in the regions or the fringes, the same opportunities as those growing up in the city centres. Since retiring from his performing career with the Australian Ballet and Sydney Dance Company, he has built a big and busy school that caters to all levels of student. But his commitment to teaching goes above and beyond the confines of his own school. He knows that many children, even those who learn to dance, seldom enter a theatre or indeed encounter any form of professional dance. His solution it to take it to them.
