Tell us a little about your history with the Moulin Rouge?
After 16 years on stage [after joining at age 22], doing every role possible and as a dance captain, I was offered the position of Ballet Mistress in 1997, helping to guide the Moulin through some very difficult times. My first aim, as I told the management, was to improve standards and working conditions and put dancers in our kind of show back on the map. At the first audition I held there were only 12
