Before Season 1 of the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That… premiered in December 2021, John Corbett caused a stir by joking that he would be returning in his role as Aidan Shaw, the controversial on-again-off-again love interest for Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker).
“It was fun. It was fun for him to say that,” Parker, 58, defended him on Watch What Happens Live in February last year. “He actually reached out, very kindly, because he’s nothing if not a gentleman, and apologised for doing that as a joke, and then I was like, ‘No, no, no, it’s a free country first of all.’ And second of all, I thought it was kind of delightful and fun.”
