One thing we usually don't like to see on a box of headphones is that gold logo for Hi-Res Audio (right), which is granted by the Japan Audio Society. When it appears on wireless headphones, it's a semi-furphy, because wireless headphones can't do high-res audio – it's too data-heavy for even the highest Bluetooth codecs, as we keep mentioning.

Query the logo in those cases, and the company in question will reply that if you plug in the cables, then it does high-res audio. But that should be made clear on the front, next to the logo, not only when someone rings up to ask.

But with Sennheiser's HD 660S2, we have no such worries, because they're for cabled use only, so they can be high-res all the time. And you know what? It's a delight to jettison the buds and the enclosed street noise-cancellers, and
