Shining examples

Founded by Israeli-born Elad Yifrach in Beverly Hills, L’Objet stands at the intersectionWilliams created a monumental mirror using a nitrate solution poured over clear glass. Elliott Barnes’ ‘Dellipse’ collection features a champagne bucket whose apparently simple form is the result of a rigorous craftsmanship process. The Egg Collective’s lamp showcases the all-female studio’s material-led approach: standing on a blackened white oak base, the lamp’s blown glass shade offers a tranquillity-inducing glow. Driven by a desire to give everyday objects a playful twist, Sophie Lou Jacobsen’s pitcher features a serious silhouette with a squiggle-shaped handle. And finally, California-based Indian designers Utharaa Zacharias and Palaash Chaudhary, of Soft-Geometry, have created ‘Mirrors for Aliens’, offering a twist on the thali dish as a metaphor for the complex emotional landscape that comes of living between cultures.
