The way things are at the moment, you need to be aware that when you take your car to your friendly local mechanic, who you’ve been going to since you were a puppy, don’t get angry with them when there are delays.
I’ve mentioned problems with parts supply before and if anything the situation has got worse in recent months. And we’re not talking for exotic cars, but for fairly run-of-the-mill gear we all use as daily drivers.
Example 1: We had a 2002 Subaru Forester in the shop for a roadworthy. They built gazillions of them, so they’re a common enough car. It had two easy issues.
