ON THE ROAD AGAIN

In March, or April, I was asked to speak to a gathering of Rolls-Royce owners in Dunedin. It was the 30th Anniversary of the Rolls-Royce and Bentley Owners Club and they were staging a big do in Masterton, but were starting two runs, one in the south, the other somewhere in the North Island and meeting in Masterton.

The South Island teams were having dinner in Dunedin and asked if I would be a speaker. To sweeten the deal they said if I could get to Invercargill I could travel up to Dunedin with one of their members in his 1931 Rolls-Royce Phantom – a big and quite intimating older car. I agreed, but twixt then and the event things went.
