Howard Rotavator Refurbishment

PART TWO

The first part of this workshop series was an overview and assessment of what work may be required to bring this rotavator up to scratch. It was quite clear that it had been lying around unloved and neglected for a few years, and that corrosion has taken hold at the rear of the machine.

Corrosion has affected the whole hinge area, and the adjustable flap has become detached from the machine, only being held by the chain used to adjust its position.

The first task was a simple one – removing the bolt that holds the flap to the chain, thus liberating the flap from the rotavator cover. This allowed me to take a closer look at the
