HE FIRST ‘WINK WINK’ CALLS OF pink-footed geese flying over my house marks the arrival of autumn for me. After the quieter summer months, the migration season is ushered in, bringing plenty of opportunity for photography. Coastal marshes and estuaries rapidly fill with birds and our shores become arrival and departure lounges, thronging with migrants both leaving for warmer climes and arriving from the Arctic, either refuelling before continuing south or settling in
