The selected works are an invitation into a psychological space, an expression of the embodiment of the Sevensusing a labyrinth of allusions, ideas, and images. The pieces touch on grand yet subtle ways of communicating—gesture, body language, and theatricality; intimacy and alienation in bars; and finding the queer erotic in the quotidian. The connotations of the Sevens, the mise-en-abyme device, and transitional architectural spaces are motifs whose overlap speaks to the theme of duration, transformation, passage, allowing the possibility of various perspectives on the same idea, of holding multiple, even sometimes contradictory, vantage points simultaneously.
