Whether Eddie Jones is as effective as the COVID vaccine when jabbed repeatedly into the Wallabies has suddenly become one of the most riveting themes of this World Cup year.
Just like the vaccine, the overwhelming view from Australia is that a masterstroke has been enacted that can only aid the country’s entire rugby community. There are also sceptics rolling their eyes that ingesting disinfectants would be a preferable option than a second dose of Eddie.
Former Wallabies skipper Stirling Mortlock is not one of them.
“It’s a fantastic coup for Australian rugby and I’ve no doubt the benefits will be pretty swift,” said Mortlock, who was the dagger that Jones plunged into Kiwi hearts at the 2003 World Cup.
“Eddie intrinsically knows the Australian psyche
