Clark Laidlaw is finally looking ahead, and he’s doing so in more ways than one.
After perhaps the most challenging period of his coaching career Laidlaw is now busy juggling his All Blacks Sevens job with a second role as head of the New Zealand under-20s team where he hopes to translate some of the success of the sevens side to the rising generation of talent for June-July’s 12-team World Cup in South Africa
He is also the new head coach at the Hurricanes, taking over next year from Jason Holland as head coach, with Holland joining the All Blacks staff.
It is back to the future for Clark who was as an assistant coach at the Hurricanes to Mark Hammett and Chris Boyd between 2013 and 2015.
“I am really proud of all we have achieved with the All Blacks Sevens.
