INSPIRATIONS

01 PEAK DAWN BY JAY BIRMINGHAM

Jay has done a terrific job at photographing this iconic location, Mam Tor, in the Peak District. His composition is effective, positioning the horizon about a third of the way down from the top of the frame and using the wooden fence as a lead-in line to guide the eye towards the epic sunrise. He’s also done a brilliant job at retaining highlight and shadow detail in such a high-contrast scene.
