HOME OF THE SMOKIE

Another two well-known and relatively safe spots for the less experienced or new angler are these marks just north of Arbroath town. These are both widely known as winter cod marks but are pretty prolific through spring and summer too. As with most east coast winter fishing, darkness and the correct conditions (a decent coloured sea and a swell running from the east) will always be most productive.
