Ferry services between British and Ireland go from strength to strength, with the port of Holyhead on Anglesey remaining at the forefront, handling daily sailings to Dublin by vessels from the fleets of Stena Line and Irish Ferries. These include some of the largest and most modern tonnage currently operating across the Irish Sea.
The largest vessel on the route, (2001/50,938gt), has been a mainstay of Irish Ferries’ operations for morea complete switch in styles with a 35-knot high-speed catamaran, , built in Australia during 2001 and brought into the fleet in 2016. Stena’s line-up includes the 41,672gt , one of the Stena-designed E-Flexer series of ships built by the Avic Weihai Yard in China, with the Holyhead-based ship being delivered in 2019.
