My story

I've loved the Art Deco aesthetic since I was a child. I find the glamour and elegance from that era really inspiring so it was always going to feature in my home, but I also wanted to celebrate the Victorian heritage of this house.

When we moved in, it was a two-up two-down with a space in the loft that hadn't been fully converted. The whole house was beige and featureless, so I began adding character by installing a reproduction Victorian fireplace in the living room. We also filled in the open space under the stairs with three big cupboards. This was not only to create much-needed storage, but also to contain the dining area and make the living room cosier.
