OSSIE OSTRICH

Everyone Loved Daryl Somers’ quick-witted sidekick, Ossie on Hey Hey It’s Saturday. Sadly, the man behind pink-feathered Ossie, Ernie Carroll, who was also a comedy writer for Graham Kennedy, passed away on March 30 Last year, aged 92. Ossie lives on in our hearts and memories. As Marcia Hines said, “Right on Daryl and Ossie!”

Big Ted arrived first. He premiered on the English version of on April 21,1964. He was called Teddy until 1968 when. Big Ted became as popular as Vegemite, rubbing shoulders with some of Australia’s favourite actors.
