’ve been painting pilot figures for a number of years now, and have a fairly set pattern in painting them. But once upon a time I had no clue how to do this. And this goes back to childhood years of building plastic model kits. I never put a pilot in a model for lack of knowing how to paint them. I finally got the hang of painting pilots by watching a fellow RC club member do one up. It’s actually fairly easy to do once you get the hang of it. Color choice is about the most difficult part along with mixing some of the colors such as the face tones. Face paint is usually about all the flesh that is required for a pilot figure as most of the time all other areas are covered with a flight suit, gloves, head gear, shoes, scarf, shirt, and so on. Many times you can paint all the other items directly from your assortment of paints out of the tube or bottle. And there is no worry that they have to be perfect from the first figure you paint.
