The Pillars of SUSTAINABILITY

When Four Pillars first launched back in 2013, co-founder Cam Mackenzie was working on the business from inside a copper cage at the back of the offices of local wine maker (and friend) Rob Dolan. At the time, Australia’s distilling industry was small, and the Australian Tax Office (ATO), which issues distilling licences, was approaching it with extreme caution.

The success of the brand meant that this working arrangement quickly became unsustainable, so the team – led by Mackenzie and his co-founders Stu Gregor and Matt Jones – decided to build a dedicated distillery in Healesville, a town about an hour from Melbourne.
