With a white, strapless wedding dress, traditional veil and a bouquet of white and yellow flowers, Jacquelyn smiled for the camera.
Her new husband, Keith Smith, stood proudly next to her, co-ordinating with a yellow bow tie and matching waistcoat.
Jacquelyn and Keith had married later in life and made a picture perfect bride and groom.
Four years later, in 2018, the couple had moved, living in Aberdeen, Maryland.
Jacquelyn, 54, who had two grown-up sons from a previous relationship, was an electrical engineer at a US Army research facility.
She was intelligent, and quick-witted.
Keith, 52, who’d worked as a driver, also had a grown-up daughter, Valeria.
On 1 December 2018, Keith made a distraught 911 call around midnight from his car saying that he was on his way to the hospital, with a bleeding Jacquelyn.
