Nightdive CEO and System Shock game director Stephen Kick (right) can finally get some sleep now. Behind closed doors, System Shock’s seven-year development not only raised the possibility that a final release would never actually arrive, but it also threatened the future of Nightdive as a whole. In running the company and also the game’s production, Kick has been deprived of many a night’s rest, but somehow the finished game bears none of the scars of what he reveals was a deeply troubled project.
