    THE WHITE SHIP SINKS

    The White Ship was due to carry 300 passengers to England from Normandy, France. One of the earliest known accounts of the disaster was writtendied, including William Adelin who initially escaped on another boat but turned back to rescue his half sister. His boat sank with the ship.
