Big Cat Cardigan

PATTERN NOTES

CONSTRUCTION

This cardigan is worked top down. The front and back shoulders are started separately, then joined to work the body in one piece. The sleeves are worked separately. Once the cardigan has been sewn up, the buttonband is knitted on.

ADJUSTMENTS

For a longer cardigan, you can just work more rows before you start the cat chart, but be aware that the pockets will also be lower. For a longer cardigan without lowering the pockets, you can either continue working the cats (each one has their own trajectory) or increase the depth of the hem. For longer/shorter arms, add or omit rows before you begin the arm shaping. The cardigan is designed to have at least 20cm (8in) of positive ease. If you’re planning a more fitted knit, you may want to add a little more length to the sleeves before starting the sleeve decreases.
