MAJOR Archibald Alexander Gordon: a family history

Major Archibald Alexander Gordon was born on 3 September 1867 in Bridge of Allan. He would grow up to hold many important posts, including honorary secretary to the Franco-Scottish Society, secretary for establishing the Queen Victoria School in Dunblane and private secretary to the 4th duke of Wellington.

But, above all, he was a family man: husband, father of three sons and one grandson, younger brother of a man who earned the Victoria Cross, an older brother, and a half-brother, all of whom, with the exception of his younger sister, he outlived.
