RESEARCHING SLAVERY CONNECTIONS

Included in May/June History Scotland was a review of David Alston’s book Slaves and Highlanders. In this short article I will look at sources you can use for investigating relatives who were involved in the slave trade, particularly in the Caribbean.

You may find that a family gravestone mentions a family member dying on the Caribbean islands. For may, like myself, find that a family will mentions a family member being in the Caribbean:
