XF ride anomaly

Q I have a 2015 Jaguar XF 3.0D S Portfolio, which came as standard with Adaptive Dynamics dampers. It is one of the last steel-bodied X250 models made and I bought it in January 2022 when it had done 29,000 miles. Judging by the MoT history, it seems to have been off the road for a long period during Covid.

I love the car, but the ride never settles down at any speed – even on newlytarmaced roads (yes, there are a few in the UK, including sections of the A30 in Devon!). The car trembles over the slightest road imperfection, I have replaced the front and rear discs and pads
