Mediterranean perspectives: Euromed Postal

The idea of Euromed Postal is to promote common history, culture and tourism by philately. The Mediterranean littoral states include not only European countries, but also stamps from other adjacent continents, North Africa and the Middle East. Euromed Postal considers its collaborative stamp project to be an annual commitment for its members. The intention is to continue a project similar to the Europa stamps, where a theme is chosen and all member countries submit their designs. Each member is then free to issue the design it has created as a postal stamp.

The first stamps in the Euromed Postal series from 2014 were an exception, when all members were obliged to use the same design. At that time, the theme chosen was ‘The Mediterranean’. The Michel catalogue lists nine issues, most of them published on 9 July 2014 for the Paris conference of
