If you’re not quite as dedicated to the genre, you can pick up the games- are £14.99 each. As the name of the collection suggests, these remasters aim to keep the retro aesthetic with brand-new pixel art, bringing the games much closer to one another visually – the original has obviously had a huge upgrade, whereas casual fans of might not initially notice much difference. Once you’re into battle, you’re more likely to notice the new animations for attacks and magic. Excellent newly arranged soundtracks are available, but you can switch to the original music if you like. A great effort has been made to make the games easier to get into – you can adjust the amount of experience and money that you gain from battles, or even turn off random battles completely. You may not wish to use these options for every game, but we’d recommend looking at them for the earlier games in particular, as they’re pretty tough going.
