LEGGERA LUSSO!

RealClassic MV AGUSTA 175 REBUILD

Although my machine was advertised as a CSTL I determined from its petrol tank design and engine / frame numbers that it was more likely a CST from 1954/55, originally with a dual seat and red tank, black frame and 19” wheels. It had suffered front end damage and the frame had been worked on with some ‘interesting’ and not very professional welding. Before the welding the headstock had not been positioned correctly in relation to the frame, so the connecting tube was still rather kinked.

My first job was to determine the correct angles. I enlarged the picture of the frame from the manual and measured the angle betweenstraightened the kinked, small diameter tube – after I'd cut it and brazed a tightfitting sleeve over the join to strengthen it.
